Rules and regulations
Please read these rules and conditions carefully before submitting your film. By submitting your project to the Bioscope International Film Festival (Biff) competition, you explicitly acknowledge and agree that you are bound by these rules and regulations. Biff
Accept any feature film or short film made after January 1,2018, regardless of subject matter, type or source. Submitting your film to Biff does not guarantee inclusion. All official nominees, nominees and winners will be permanently listed on our website. All winning films will receive trophies, awards or certificates. Please note that we do not offer application fee exemption. We treat every filmmaker equally.
Films made in languages other than English must have English subtitles or will be rejected immediately. Fan-made, pornographic, educational, religious, propaganda and over-educational films are not acceptable.
Given that each of our competitions has a different panel of judges, films submitted to Biff for a particular season can be resubmitted for a second chance in the next season.
Contestants can submit more than one film in one category or multiple categories at the same time, and pay a fee accordingly. Only the best Burmese short film category is a one-time submission, with a deadline of 2 December for 2024.
Biff is hereby granted the right to use any excerpts of the film submitted, but only for the promotional purposes of the film festival in Myanmar. The person or company submitting the film hereby warrants that it has the right to commission the film and understands and accepts these requirements, rules and regulations. Biff
Reserve the right to reject any entries. You agree to indemnify and indemnify Biff against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees and court fees) arising out of any claims relating to copyright, trademarks, credit and publicity. Nominees will be shown privately to the BIFF jury, initially not to the public.
If they decide to withdraw the filing, the filing fee will not be refunded. All entry fees are non-refundable. If the filmmaker fails to submit the film to the correct category, BIFF will not refund any fees. Films submitted without paying the correct fee or using the appropriate submission media may be considered ineligible by the program director or the executive director of BIFF. The festival does not bear any expenses incurred by the filmmakers.
Producers will be notified of the official selection and the final films will be listed in the official selection section of the festival website. Being selected does not mean that your film will be shown at the festival. This means that your film is appreciated by the jury and you can use the festival logo on the poster. We need official trailers or posters, introductions and movie links. Please select the correct category at the time of submission to avoid disqualification. We reserve the right to redistribute films into appropriate categories. Biff
These rules and conditions may be amended from time to time without prior notice. Each such amendment shall take immediate effect. It is your responsibility to check regularly for updates to these rules and conditions.
Disclaimer
All filmmakers understand and accept that if their films are accepted to be shown and shown at the festival, they grant BIFF full and unrestricted permission, allow them to show films/films at a time of their choice at the festival and charge admission fees for digital programmes. All the films/films that were shown won the gold medal at the festival, and Biff only showed the winners.
Filmmakers understand and accept that they are not involved in collecting any box-office revenue funds, which are all retained by the festival to help cover the total cost of the festival's screenings. It is important to note that box office receipts will never cover the cost of showing long and short films.
The filmmakers release the festival (Biff) from any liability for damage or damage to the DCP submitted. The filmmakers understand that the festival will keep the submitted DCP in a secure facility and will make every effort to protect and control the viewing of the work. The festival is not liable for theft, copyright infringement or piracy of the entries.
Film-makers accept and understand that the festival will do everything possible to present the video in the best possible way, but the BIFF is not responsible for any malfunction in the presentation of the work during the screening of the festival.
We use professional avantgarde international playback system for all formats, all regions, including zone 0. All entries are carefully pre-screened before public screening to ensure DCP meets industry standards. The film festival (Biff) does not accept any responsibility for any technical difficulties encountered in the actual presentation of this video at the event. Film Festival (Biff)
The right to change the program date and time and may not show the movie (although the movie is selected to be shown) is reserved. Filmmakers will try to provide the festival (Biff) with a new, pre-checked hard drive/DCP to actually show the video at the festival.
